Marbella
Marbella is world famous, the fastest growing city in Spain and millions of words have been written about it. It is a residential and also recreational resort where many people have settled, stated successful businesses, purchased principal or secondary homes and taken up offers of holiday accommodation in often luxurious developments like La Alcazaba, Puerto Banus or Alcazaba, Marbella one and the same but as often referred.
The location of Marbella on one of the southernmost tips of Spain could not be bettered with land terrain, mountains to North, sea to South and sets the tone for arguably the greatest weather in the world never ever cold but without the humidly of most warmer climes.
You will notice if you check a daily paper the temperature in Malaga is always a little hotter than Gibraltar at the other end of the Costa del Sol, Marbella right in the middle gets better weather than both and generally at least 300 very sun filled days a year. I mean long days of sunshine and fantastic light !.
La Alcazaba is located in the area known as the Golden Mile, Marbella the exclusive stretch between the Melia Don Pepe just to the west of the town and extending further west towards Puerto Banus. The actual locality of La Alcazaba is known locally as "the area of platinum" a completed area and adjacent to the entire coasts finest shopping's (which includes El Corte Ingles, Louis Vitton, D&G, Prada, Hermes, Boss, Christian Dior etc. etc. this is a shoppers paradise.
The Alcazaba is within easy walking distance to the 1000 berth yacht marina of Puerto Banus which besides further shops and shopping centres has a galaxy of fabulous dining opportunities, bars and nightclubs and at anytime of the day there is always something happening this a mere stroll from La Alcazaba, and should you fancy a newspaper, a coffee, Haagen Daze, lunch or dinner with the gauntlet of possibility running from McDonalds through to Hard Rock Cafe to Picasso, to Los Bandidos, or a new Movie or just a walk or run along the beach La Alcazaba is perfectly situated its position unparelleled.
The location of the Alcazaba really is a fantastic one, very close to the Casino, the Saturday market at Centro Plaza and the areas finest golf courses. Unlike most places in the sprawling Marbella area a car fo is not essential when staying in La Alcazaba.
The restaurant Trader Vics has had premises in La Alcazaba for around 6 years, this is a world wide name for a quality establishment that originated in New York in the 1930's and has been famous ever since, in Havana late 1950s as well as in London for over 40 years Trader Vics in the London Hilton has a legendary reputation and an unblemished reputation for excellence. Since then the corporation have opened many restaurants throughout the world, the only one of which not in a five star hotel the one in La Alcazaba, Puerto Banus, Marbella. Now formally knows Polynesian's it's very much amongst Marbella finest.
With the existing success in La Alcazaba, Puerto Banus the Dreamers group have recently taken over the old Japanese restaurant in La Alcazaba overlooking the 20.000 m2 tropical garden and swimming pool. This is of great benefit to both the owners and tenants of La Alcazaba with the management of Trader Vics "Polynesian's" in La Alcazaba agreeing to keep this facility open all year round. Besides these facilities there is a second dining option in La Alcazaba the family run "Aurora's" which serves fresh fish, delightful salads, hamburgers, chicken etc. Here there is also an English and/or Continental breakfast available, fabulous coffee's and soft or alcoholic drinks and ice creams served throughout the day. "Aurora's" has the function of a poolside coffee shop and is open March until end October and has had and maintained a tradition of finest standard and quality product in La Alcazaba for a great many years. Besides the wonderful apartments there is a lot of comfort when staying in La Alcazaba, Puerto Banus and the convenience to staying here with the proximity to the fabulous towns of Marbella and San Pedro which offers all of Puerto Banus but with a more Spanish culture a huge attraction just a short distance away.
The towns travelling further east from Marbella, La Cala, Fuengirola, Benalmadina, Malaga and further Granada or west Benahavis, Estepona, Casares, Manilve/Duquesa, Ronda, Seville, Jerez etc. etc. are all worth a visit you will however return to La Alcazaba sleep well and wake up refreshed for another glorious day.
